Raised Bed Gardens for Beginners Planning, Soil Mix, and Planting Guide

Two of my good friends recently asked me to help them set up a DIY raised garden bed in their suburban backyard. I jumped at the chance, because they’d never wanted to garden before! What a great opportunity.

In today’s video, we’re going to walk them through planning their raised beds, buying and mixing soil, selecting plants, and both transplanting and direct-sowing their seeds. It’s a bit of a longer, more narrative-style video today, so I hope you enjoy the journey.

As a beginner, raised-bed gardening is probably your best path into the world of gardening in general. As long as you make it simple, cheap, and no-fail, you’ll be well on your way to gardening for many years to come.
